Anna Schuleit. (Stoneleigh-Burnham School)

Anna Schuleit '93 will visit Greenfield's Stoneleigh-Burnham School as a visiting artist-in-residence this month (the exact dates of her visit have been rescheduled due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy).

Schuleit is "best known locally for her three-story-high, upside-down portrait of a man on the fa├žade of the Fine Arts Center at UMass Amherst that when viewed in the reflection of the adjacent campus pond, reflects right side up. Changing throughout the day as the light changes and wind and ducks ripple the surface of the pond, the piece is titled, 'Just a Rumor' and was commissioned by the University Gallery Fine Arts Center."

"A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Genius," an article about Schuleit's work transforming abandoned places into public art, was the cover story of the Fall 2007 issue of the NMH Magazine.

The MacArthur "genius" grant recipient plans to deliver an artist's talk that is free and open to the public at the Stoneleigh-Burnham School. Please visit the school's website for more information.
