Michelle Simpson-Siegel, a former English teacher at Northfield Mount Hermon, has been named executive director of the Oak Meadow Curriculum & School, a print-based homeschool curriculum and distance learning school for grades K-12.

"Homeschooling is much more accepted by and available to people," Simpson-Siegel told the Brattleboro Reformer (click here to read more). "The image of the isolated homeschooler in a prairie dress...not anymore."

Oak Meadow is based in the Cotton Mill in Brattleboro.

Simpson-Siegel received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Rhode Island and her graduate degree in Environmental Education from Antioch University New England. Along with teaching English at NMH, Simpson-Siegel was a Learning Specialist in Massachusetts public schools and Program Director of the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
