Mary McDonagh Murphy '77 has taken a new look at the American classic, “To Kill A Mockingbird,” in the new documentary, “Hey Boo: Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird.” The documentary focuses on Nelle Harper Lee and  explores some of the mysteries surrounding her, including why she never published again. According to the film's website, Hey, Boo contains "never-before-seen photos and letters and an exclusive interview with Lee’s sister, Alice Finch Lee, the film also brings to light the context and history of the novel's Deep South setting and the social changes it inspired after publication."

Murphy, the documentary’s writer, producer, and director was recently profiled on the WBUR.org program "Here and Now." Her film will be screening across the country this summer.
