Matty Germain '05 has had quite a string of successes in his hockey career so far. Germain won co-MVP this year at the Providence College Hockey Banquet, received the The Mal Brown Award (given annually to the male athlete whose career of intercollegiate competition portrayed sportsmanship, courage and honor) at the PC Athletics Sports Gala, and received The Joseph V. MacAndrews Award (given annually to the most outstanding male student athlete that have shown leadership and scholarship during his career at Providence College) by the Providence College Alumni Association, according to Joseph Bracken of the Boston Advantage Hockey Club. Germain will be on his fourth Hockey East All-Academic Team, which will make him a Distinguished Scholar (those with four years on an All-Academic Team).  In 2009-10 he was a HE Academic All Star.

He also played in 9 games with Trenton Devils (ECHL) and had 3g 4a in those games right after his PC season ended.
