Patty Howell '61 has published  World Class Marriage:  How to Create the Relationship You Always Wanted with the Partner You Already Have. According to a press release from Howell, the book was written with her husband, Ralph Jones, and identifies the 16 pillars essential for marital success.  Howell said that much of their motivation for writing the book came from people they’ve taught in relationship education workshops around the world, including an alumni seminar at NMH.

Patty Howell grew up on Martha’s Vineyard Island and came to NMH her junior year. After NMH, Howell obtained degrees in psychology and counseling psychology from Drew University, Boston University, and Washington University in St. Louis.  She and her husband live in San Diego and work for the California Healthy Marriages Coalition, a nonprofit organization that makes marriage and relationship education classes available throughout California.  Howell was a 2010 recipient of the Smart Marriages Impact Award—the highest award in her field.

World Class Marriage, released this month by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, is available through Amazon.com and BarnesandNobel.com.  shinning
