According to a press release sent to NMH from Tufts: "On May 22, Tufts University dedicated the Steeplechase Complex at Ellis Oval Track Facility to Connie Putnam, class of 1964 at NMH. Putnam served as the head coach of track and field and cross country at Tufts from 1984-2006.  During his career, Putnam coached 61 NCAA All-Americans, three national champions, and hundreds of All New England, All ECAC, and All IC4A performers. His teams won over 88 percent of their competitions. The dedication was made possible through a major gift to Tufts by John and Kimberly Regan."

The event was also photographed by John "JD" Sloan, NMH '64, Putnam's longtime friend. Putnam, according to the press release, was also the design consultant and supervisor of the construction of the NMH track and field facility. To read the full story about the dedication, click here.
